Re: Biggest Reasons Kerry Lost in 2004
People turned out in big numbers in many states due to the politics of fear and hate. The Left Wing political machine conducted an anti-marriage and anti-soldier campaign across the country to make sure their liberal anti-christian bigot base came out to vote..

And yet he came within one state of winning. Perhaps the more salient question is how he managed to do that given the negatives listed above. [/ QUOTE ] come again? Regardless of everyones lists, how did he manage NOT to win? He had this election in the bag and he blew it. |

Apparently he didn't want to release them during the campaign because he wanted to take the high road [/ QUOTE ] Huh? Kerry hasn't released jack [censored]. And why did it take him so long, even some 6 months following the election, and only when pressed by Tim Russert on national TV, to "sift" through the documents prior to alledgedly signing form 180? Why couldn't he just sign it, hand it over to the Navy, and have it made public? Why did he only authorize his records (only his active duty, not his reserve records btw) to be viewed by a small handful of wacko liberal reporters? What is he trying to hide??? It is also well documented that Kerry lied about his service in Vietnam - like, Christmas in Cambodia, 1968, etched forever into his memory? -Matt |

[/ QUOTE ] Well, let me first tell you that there is nothing that I hate more than soilders and marriage. Oh wait, I actually hate life even more. But FYI, I was told face to face by a respected congressman that there is good reason to believe that it WAS the proposed ban on gay marriage which played a large role in bringing out the conservative base in Ohio, and securing the state for Bush. The GOP knows what its doing, gotta give them that. |

Re: Biggest Reasons Kerry Lost in 2004
I'm not sure if the "raising" taxes issue was a net plus or minus for Kerry. Nobody I know out here in la-la land who voted for Bush told me taxes were an issue. In fact, several people I know told me they thought Kerry was right on the issue, but thought he was the wrong man because of the war on terrorism. Anecdotal, to be sure, but I'm not sure if the issue was +EV or -EV for Kerry.
I agree with you that the election was his for the winning but he didn't run a good enough campaign to close the deal. |
