Usually I just ask them how their last sexual performance went. Then I say 'right, none of your business'.

i tell anyone who asks. i make enough that i really enjoy telling people (but no one who doesn't ask), but not so much that they're going to get insanely jealous. honestly, it's one thing in my life that i'm very proud of, and i don't feel any need to hide it.

if they asked, "how'd you do in the wrestling tournament?" i'd say "i won," not "oh, pretty well" (if i were winning wrestling tournaments).

My brother, two close friends and my parents know what I make. My wife has an approximation b/c that's all she wants to know. I don't play online poker much, so my working income exceeds my poker income substantially and it is less of an issue.

Most of the "top" posters have been around long enough or are smart enough not to tell people what they make. That is why we do not know what a good earn rate is in 5-10, 10-20 and higher nl, other than that it's all good. Maybe we should have an anonymous poster day where everyone publishes their earnings per hand and game(s).

trust me, if you were winning wrestling tourneys, you'd say: "I [censored] some guys up" [then go on and tell them about it]

winning wrestling tourney >>> winning poker tourney

edit: I've never won a wrestling tourney yet I've won 5 poker tournaments. (And I dont even play that many) I would trade each win for a wrestling tourney win. Maybe.

The majority of my friends play poker, so I'm honest with them if they ask.

Two of my friends who don't play found the money I keep in my room for casino trips (not much by MHNL standards, but a solid amount for a college student to have in his room), and their eyes bulged out of their heads when they realized it was all 100's and not 20's. But they aren't mooches, so it isn't a problem. They ask out of curiosity, and I'm honest since they are close friends.

I've been honest with my parents, which has helped turn them around to the poker idea. They are fine with it now. Honesty can go a long ways, especially with parents.
