[/ QUOTE ] again you are totally ignoring the economics of the situation. arod signed a huge deal in 2001 i think, a year after manny signed a monster deal. if givin the choice between the two bad contracts, arods offered more value, because he is the better player at a more important position. when texas offered that chance, boston was wise to listen. in order to facilitate the deal, the sox would then have to replace mannys production and find a spot to play for arod. why is it so hard to understand that trading nomar was the way to go? he had value at the time and had already turned down a lucrative offer from the sox (or in other words a deal was not going to be done) his production had been a slight decline since he was 26. the white sox were willing to give up ordonez for nomar, which given the predicament the sox would be in, was a great move for them. any team that wouldn't make that series of trades is run by a dope. as for the deadline deal, the fact that he is not going to sign is magnified PLUS it was apparent he was not happy. so he gets traded for two gold glove caliber defensive players. whilst that deal can still de debated, the outcome cannot. loyalty....ha! |

dude, i think we're going to get some momentum from this. finally turn things around. i can see a change in everyones attitude, people are starting to break out of their slumbers and play like real yankees. you know, sometimes when a team wins a close game on the road they get that little spark, and maybe thats what this team needed. [/ QUOTE ] You've just lost 3 outta 4 games and you think thats a momentum builder? Yes, I understand you won the last game of the series but I wouldnt be too excited just yet. If the Yankees win their division (which I do think is the most likely outcome), guess who you will be playing in the first round? Yup, the same team that repeatedly beats the Yankees season after season. |

SARCASM [/ QUOTE ] how can you expect either boot or myself to notice it was, when you make statements like that after numerous yankee wins. unless you have widened your view since the all star break |

ok, at the beginning of the season when the yankees were 11-18 or whatever, when we would have a big comeback win i genuinely thought that it would help things turn around. after a while i didnt believe it anymore.
i thought you guys would realize its sarcasm because you kind of set me up for it asking "was this a regular win, or a huge win?". I also went on and on and on using every cliche. |
