I'll take your bet. If Ivey wins, I give you 150, if Ivey doesn't, you give me 50. (EDIT: Let me know if you're actually going to do this.)

2 Mike Matusow $ 2,561,000

I don't know what you guys think, but I really hope something bad happens to his stack today.

[/ QUOTE ]

My friend Ben called Matusow's all-in bet on a 943 flop on day 2 with K3. Matusow had J7o, no pair, no draw. He rivered his J. Now Ben is sitting home and Matusow has 2.5 mill. Painful.

[/ QUOTE ]

What the heck was your friend doing calling an all-in bet with bottom pair.

If Matusow wins this its going to make for one hell of a human interest story: from the Clark County jail to a $7.5M WSOP win.

And will help put poker right back in the shitter where it came from.

"Convicted Cokehead Wins Poker Championship."

Cue TV exposes about the dark underbelly of professional poker, where all the pros are drug addicts to cope with the stress, and those that fail fall into a death spiral of addiction (Stuey). Cue "addiction experts" who claim that the personalities who would become gambling addicts ("pros") are also almost certain to have other addictions, like drugs or sex. Cue sob stories about how gambling drove people into lives of addiction and misery.

I see your point, but personally I like stories about redemption. Matusow has taken a lot of heat for his actions, perhaps deservedly, but he's done his time. Its good to see people get a second chance.
