so you'll give me money?
how about this: I'll start a guide service. tack on some bells and whistles to make it look special. Maybe make it a poker/guide service to take advantage of the hot market. then you can do a site visit after your company gives us loads of cash. we'll fish all summer and fall and declare the company a failure around november. |

How about derm? you could specialize in being botox man to the stars. [/ QUOTE ] Derm is extremely competitive. A lot of this has to do with perceived easy lifestyle. Nice hours, few dermatologic emergencies. A lot of cash patients if you want. Besides the high-paying procedures, your clinical treatment algorith is pretty simple...If it is wet, dry it out, If it is dry, make it wet. Here, have some steroids. Out of 230 people in my graduating class, two matched in dermatology. I don't think I would have felt satisfied being a dermatologist. It doesn't matter anyway. I wasn't remotely cool enough. It still ends up being a huge front-end commitment. It can't be the right choice for someone who is asking this question. |

[ QUOTE ]
Your best bet is to get an EE degree from Stanford. Probability of getting a job increases as you get more degrees. The other way to do it is to start your own company and be successfull. I didn't do either of these things. I just got stupid lucky. [/ QUOTE ] Did you get an MBA? I am under the impression that this is pretty much a requirement for these jobs (actually, everyone I know with a venture capitalist job has an MBA from Wharton or Harvard but thats a smallish sample size) When you say that 'you got lucky' does that mean that you knew someone or that you just hit it off in an interview or what? If I am not going to start my own business after college what jobs look best on my resume if I were applying to a VC firm.... thanks ~B |

NFL kicker/punter, you just have to make sure you don't end up on some team that will make the playoffs, then if you [censored] up it will not be good. Otherwise it's cheddar.

The guy that holds the "SLOW" sign by the side of the road during construction looks like he's got it pretty good. [/ QUOTE ] we're talking about high paying jobs here. |

[/ QUOTE ] Speaking of hijacking the thread...why aren't there lots of kicker/punter combos? This should make you worth more than both positions combined, since you are saving a roster spot for your team. People certainly do it in college. Is it really that tough to punt if you are already a good placekicker (or vice versa)? |

oh yeah anyone who mentioned pimp is just wrong. You have to deal with whores and the people who buy them all day, plus seize debt and beat the crap out of a couple people. Not easy, not fun.
