Whatever, I don't get worked up easily. It's a pretty big deal for me to have to pay $400 extra needlessly because I wasn't aware of a technicality. I haven't made a purchase over $120 in 2 years.

Nice to know it is not Dell's fault, but I called their "support" phone number and their complete incompetence incensed me. They had a chance to explain the problem to me and instead they repeated over and over that "the coupon has no value."

It sure is. Just as long as on your state income tax form, you list the out of state purchase (usually under "Use Tax") and pay your taxes accordingly.

If you get worked up easily, you wanna try buying hardware in the UK, reading of how people in the US can get a 2001FP for ~$400 - current price for a 2001FP inc tax in a whopping $739 at the current exchange rate. This is supposedly a special offer - last week they were <sarcasm>ONLY $801 / £469 GBP</scarcasm> = What a F***ing joke Dell.

Take a look at www.dell.co.uk to see what a bargain you are getting compared to us.

Indeed - I am so glad the EU parliament knows what's best for us European citizens - expensive hardware and a special EU Windows XP, minus the media player - brilliant, LOL

This coupon probably wasn't even intended for you anyways.... it's only because of sites like fatwallet and slickdeals that you even heard about it.

Well, maybe not. It's really not that big of a deal. I always regret posting on 2+2 when I'm in a bad mood, because I look like a child throwing a tantrum. The coupons expiring were just the last straw in what has been a very bad week.

I was pissed that the coupon was expired before I even got to this thread as well... I'm also pissed because dell rejected my DPA application for no apparent reason. I answered all of there stupid credit report questions correctly (but who knows if they think they were right), so i'm waiting for a letter from them now. Even though I have perfect credit I guess they don't like extending credit to professional poker players.
