I actually prefer something in-between:

1st: $850
2nd: $450
3rd: $250
4th: $150
Bounty: $100 (doesn't need to be high, since one of the money finishers is the most likely to win it anyway..)

But whatever, I'm in regardless of the payouts.

is there any point to a bounty hunter? Isn't the person who knocks out the most players most likely going to win money anyway? What do you like about bounties?

[/ QUOTE ]

We don't have to do a bounty hunter, I just think it's a fun concept. And just because someone has knocked out the most players doesn't mean they're also going to come in 1st and win most of the money.

You might take down three or four short-stacked players in one hand and not make much of a profit, but you still got everyone THAT much closer to the money, follow?

You might be the guy who gets heads-up and you've done all the work, eliminating most of the other players, and then the other player beats you heads-up and gets most of the money despite all of the work you did.

Anyway, the bounty hunter is just an idea, we don't have to do it. It's Dan's (Kilgores) game, so his final ruling how it will all pan out.

I can't make it so I don't matter anyway, but why not use a Stars 40-30-20-10

$720
$540
$360
$180

3rd and 4th have worked hard to get there. It sucks to get nothing for it. Just my worthless .02.

I'm in.

Put me on the alternate list and when you get the eventual "Wahhhh, my wife won't let me....wahhh, I have to go to a baby shower.....wahhhh, my wife owns my junk....wahhhhh",

then you can just put me on the list because I'll be there 100% gauranteed. All I say is "Listen woman, I'm going to play cards. Where you say? Worcester. When will you be home you say? Whenever the hell I'm done o'clock.

Now go cook me some dinner....."

I guess it comes down to whether we want the payouts to be fair/reasonable, or ultra-competitive?

I like both, so it doesn't matter to me. But given that we're a group of 2+2'ers, I would think making it ultra-competitive would encourage us to play our damndest and not just settle for 4th place.

ULTRA-COMPETITIVE

1st: $900
2nd: $600
3rd: $300

COMPETITIVE:

1st: $900
2nd: $500
3rd: $300
4th: $100

FLAT PAYOUT:

1st: $700
2nd: $500
3rd: $350
4th: $250

I guess the flat payout makes it worth your while regardless of where you finish, everyone gets a decent payout.

I like competitive, or flat payouts, considering I have a snowball's chance in hell of getting there against you bastards I want as many payouts as possible. This is just going to be WSOP practice for me anyway, need some more live experience/solid opponent experience.

I think you're giving us all way too much credit. I earned the coveted "Horses Ass" trophy at my last home game for being first out (granted I had a LOT of distractions and forces working against me, and I had just come off a final table finish in the morning tourney at Foxwoods)

My thoughts on the payout (assuming 18 players):

1st - 50% ($900)
2nd - 28% ($504)
3rd - 14% ($252)
4th - 8% ($144)

This tourney should be top heavy, IMO, but since most of us are used to the stars payouts, we could do that, too. Of course, you can cut deals if you want.

I should mention that there's no rake/vig.

Not too keen on using the prize pool for bounties. Let's think of something else.

That works for me. I don't really care about the bounty anyway - they are generally better for larger tournaments; there is a good possibility of a multi-way tie with only 18 people involved...
