1. Walk off home run

I saw a walk-off walk though, which was pretty sweet. Wasn't there a walk-off balk last season? That's gotta be the ultimate.

I would prefer it if they would say the visiting score first. That way if they say the score is 21-17, you know who is winning (not the same as 17-21).

[/ QUOTE ]

That's how we did it in the sportsbook. "Packer game's a final: 17 on top, 21."

Back to the topic:

--Waiting for the result of the play before criticizing the decision. Like waiting to see if the 4th down conversion fails before saying, "They should've kicked the FG." If that's your opinion, say it BEFORE they botch 4th down.

--When an announcer says "The quarterback needs to SENSE that pressure." Well, I've got news for you: his eyes are looking downfield, but the rest of his body senses that pressure EVERY PLAY, not the just the times he's sacked. And if he COULD "sense" the pressure, what would you like him to do: protect the football and take the sack, or risk an interception by throwing to a covered receiver?

--Thiessman out-did himself this week when he suggested that Seattle, in the red zone with under a minute left, needing a TD to tie, should consider "not scoring too soon." Are you KIDDING me??? Did he think he was a watching a basketball game, where you score just about every time you have the ball???

--"The Duke led the American League in Saves, Strikeouts per Inning, and Hit Batsmen. This guy once threw at his own kid at a Father-Son game."

But can you say that the shot clock is integral to the game?

Weak! Math puns are lame.

(But, as a disciple of Dean Smith, yes, of course.)

I just hate how sideline "reporters" make statements instead of asking questions when they're talking to coaches and athletes.

Reporter: "Coach, you guys played an intense game today."
Coach: "Yeah, blah blah blah blah."
Reporter: "You now go to New England to face the Patriots."

Please, ask an actual QUESTION!

The best-ever announcers, however (non-pro division) called an infamous Texas high-school football game in like 1994. Team comes all the way back from being down 41-17 -- with less than three minutes left -- to take a 44-41 lead with 8 seconds left. They kick off, and the other team takes it all the way back for a touchdown as time expires.

The TV guys (it's Texas, so you know HS football is on) were homers for the team that came all the way back that now was about to lose. They were screaming as the opponent ran the kick back, "NOOOOOOO! I'm gonna be SICK!! This is HORRIBLE!!!! NOOOOOOO!"

One of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Some were talking about biased announcers. I actually don't mind too much when the opposing team has biased announcers. It bugs the shit out of me when my team has them. I think it's some sort of desire to want my teams to have smart fans and good announcers.

I can't stand it when I'm watching an Oregon basketball game and the dumbass announcers claim not to have seen the foul when the Oregon guy practically body slammed the other guy to the ground or bitch about a kicked ball because "it wasn't intentional." Of course since I can't watch anymore Oregon games being in Pittsburgh and all I would love to see that now.

Top two calls from that game:

2. (During the comeback) All you people in the parking lot who left early, and are listening to us right now: SHAAAAAAAAAAME ON YOU!!!

1. (After the heart-crushing defeat, tearfully) God bless these boys!

I guess this game is available on DVD now. I think I'm going to have to buy it.

Yeah, 15th inning of an A's v. Mariners game. Mariners won. I had money on A's that night.

Even the questions that they ask are completely useless. Stuff like asking a coach "You had your leading scorer back after 10 game stint on the DL. How important was his presence?" WTF are you supposed to say to that? "Oh, no, it wasn't very important, we coulda won without him there." Stuff like asking a player "Your team's lost 10 games in a row before this game. How important is this win?" WTF? Who's gonna say "Oh, no, it's not very important, we're a crappy team anyway."? I HATE reporters because none of them ask any REAL questions.
