I've never given it a thought and am not sure that it would have occurred to me to type a player based on race (I guess I missed those threads you are referring to) but thinking about it now, I would've thought the asian stereotype would be a tight, meticulous, odds oriented player.

So its actually loose and wild?

[/ QUOTE ]

Here's a recent thread. One guy even lays out distinctions by nationality. Anyone who has been humbled by the test on All Look Same knows this can be a little dangerous.

[/ QUOTE ]

I love the way they all start out: "Now, I'm not racist or anything, but ..." Even Caro does it in his Tells book.

Yeah, I get out to a card room about every...well...never.

[/ QUOTE ]

In the cardroom I play at, and I think this is pretty universal, the loosest and wildest players tend to be asian....Here, the Vietnamese are the wildest. Can be hard to play against sometimes, especially if there are a bunch on your table.

Having said that, two of my best buddies are asian, and play tight, and very good, so stereotypes don't always mean much.

3) How come bakku always loses when we play live together?

[/ QUOTE ]

This is no joke, everytime bison and I have played together I've been stuck a rack or two - I can only win after he leaves. i.e. Last night I was stuck 2 racks while playing with bison for 5 hours. After he leaves I play for about another hour and a half and leave a $20 winner. I rock.

Oh yeah, I'm never playing with you again Peter.

Me, Hentai, and Josh1122 had fun last night on PP sraddling and typing GAMBOOL as the blinds came to us. Josh came up with a brilliant improvisation of covering the screen as your cards are dealt while hitting the raise button... then proceeding as described in this post.

Thank you for making the last few minutes of my work day hilarious. I may give this a try during my trip to Tahoe next month.
