I know most of you worship Johnny, but I do not know why you are so convinced his opponent had AA on the first hand.

My understanding is that Lord Chan had just sat down. Do any of you really think anyone can get a read on another player after one or two hands?

My humble interpretation is that Johnny had no read--on either hand--and declined to risk mucho chips without a read. He knows he is good, and he knows that showing his cards in both situations will pay in the long run.

His opponent on the first hand was no schlub. He knew Johnny's rep, maybe even knew (because of Johnny's fame!) he has a proclivity to turn down big gambles when he doesn't have a read, and made a good play. I don't know how he controlled his laughter when he said he didn't want to play anymore.

Don't underestimate your opponents, but don't overestimate them either. The tournament format is a great equalizer.

it was a friggin' rebuy...if he thought that he could get JC to lay down KK by limping behind and then raising big then he's the best player on earth.

Why would one so great as JC fear mere aces? (LOL)
