Re: Do you ever use poker terminology in reference to other things?
I say "bad beat" pretty often, but only jokingly. It's some sort of parody/satire that loops in on itself; I can't really explain it.

Re: Do you ever use poker terminology in reference to other things?
i say "bad beat" and "good play/hand" pretty frequently. i was also thinking about having a second nut straight/flush/boat/whatever...my thought on the subject was that it was right next to the nuts, so wouldn't that make it the taint?
p.s. i was highly stoned at the time so it may have been a lot funier then, than it is now |

Re: Do you ever use poker terminology in reference to other things?
I bought a pretty expensive gun that is giving me some problems. I have had to purchase a bunch of ammo to break it in and pay for shipping to send it back to the company for them to look at it. I was explaining the situation in a gun forum that I frequent and referred to myself as being "pot stuck" in the matter at this point.

Re: Do you ever use poker terminology in reference to other things?
I describe descisions as 'optimal' or 'correct' a lot of the time. I only rarely use EV, but i'm a big fan of 'it's not even close' and 'do you see why?'.

Re: Do you ever use poker terminology in reference to other things?
sometimes I catch myself using -/+ EV in discussions, only realizing it when my friends, whom dont play poker, give me this weird look. I try not to incorporate poker lingo in my conversations as it reminds me of what I could be doing.
