Well said. The reason is it's not here, you suggest a Beatles album, it seems to bring out legions of Beatles haters. We Beatles-lovers know it should go to either Revolver, Sgt Peppers or Rubber Soul, so who cares about the rest.

So obviously London Calling. The Clash are ridiculously awesome.

Any thread of this type is just plain wrong if every third or so post does not mention a Beatles album. The White Album? Abbey Road? Revolver? Rubber Soul? Few albums are as consistently good as any of these. The Beatles did, are, and will always transcend mere music. If any popular group's music survives 'til the end of time, it will be theirs. Gee, sorry, but Radiohead *just* missed the cut. Give me a break. [/ QUOTE ] The reason I didn't picture any Beatles albums in my previous post is because I would have to fill a whole page with them. Every one of their releases is a legitimate contender here (except Yellow Submarine, sorry Ringo). Of the lot, my favorite is the UK version of ![]() |

Ask the members of TOOL where they got a lot of their influence from and I'd be shocked if they didn't all include Pink Floyd in there. Their music, although different in genre, contains a lot of similarity to Pink Floyd. They both used bizarre time signatures, longer than average solos, as well as a clear influence from classical music. [/ QUOTE ] IM sure this is all very correct in regards to influence etc. But for some reason, I just cant really get into Pink Floyd. Listened to it enough in my rebellious youth but definitely was never a fave of mine. However I will take credit for creating a successful thread.
