I currently pay $0, but my girlfriend pays $675 Cdn for our 930 sqft studio apartment in Vancouver, CA. (in New Westminster, actually, near the water). I am a freeloader.

We're moving to San Fran in three months though, and we've already signed a lease agreement. $1450 a month for a 2br in Chinatown. Has a great view, otherwise sucks.

$875 for a newly renovated two-bedroom. Heat and Water included. This is actually pretty high rent for the city I live in (Winnipeg), but it's a good, safe area and relatively close to downtown.

getting a loan when your occupation is "proffesional gambler" isnt the easiest thing in the world to do.

Most of your mortgage payment is interest in the beggining anyway, so its not like you arent flushing money away either
