Jay-Z's 99 Problems is one of the best in recent memory.
Spike Jonze directed too many amazing videos to name, not sure if anyone has mentioned him, but the videos included in his DVD retrospective are in a league of their own. |

postscript - I had errands to run and I wanted a copy of the Video to watch with my band before we go see the Joquin Phoenix biopic of Johnny - (it's gonna be a band night without any music being played) - so I dug around, couldn't find it in DVD's, but I had a hunch and found it enclosed with a copy of the album it's on - The Man Comes Around.
I already own that album, but I bought it again for the DVD. RB |

We had this just recently but again I'll go say that Falco's classic video for Rock Me Amadeus has to be up there. That obnoxious boob Falco singing in the 18th century ball. Then the motorcycle gang rides in. The best.

I'd have to go with Johnny Cash's rendition of Hurt. [/ QUOTE ] not the most groundbreaking but without a doubt the most powerful. |

Cars - You Might Think Dire Straights - Money For Nothing Billy Joel - Pressure Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight Edit: maybe not in the 'best ever' realm, but good for discussion... |

Jesus Christ, people. This is best music VIDEO. Cash's "Hurt" is a f--king awesome song, but best VIDEO?
The best use of the visual medium is much closer to something like "Smack my bitch up". Dire Straits' "Brothers in Arms" is also excellent. But, f--king hell, people, "Do the Evolution" by Pearl Jam. Can not BELIEVE that hasn't been mentioned. |
