Re: Greatest song lyrics ever
Awesome, i get to plug this song again.
Hello 1-I wish I was little bit taller, I wish I was a baller I wish I had a girl who looked good I would call her I wish I had a rabbit in a hat with a bat and a '64 Impala I wish I was like six-foot-nine So I could get with Leoshi Cause she don't know me but yo she's really fine You know I see her all the time Everywhere I go, and even in my dreams I can scheme of ways to make her mine Cause I know she's livin phat Her boyfriend's tall and he plays ball So how am I gonna compete with that 'Cause when it comes to playing basketball I'm always last to be picked And in some cases never picked at all So I just lean upon the wall Or sit up in the bleachers with the rest of the girls Who came to watch their men ball Dag y'all! I never understood Why the jocks get the fly girls And me I get the hood rats I tell 'em scat, skittle, skibobble Got hit with a bottle And put in the hospital, for talkin' that mess I confess it's a shame when you livin' in a city That's the size of a box and nobody knows yo' name Glad I came to my senses Like quick-quick got sick-sick to my stomach Overcome with my thoughts of me and her together Right? So when I asked her out she said I wasn't her type (rpt 1, 1) I wish I had a brand-new car So far, I got this hatchback And everywhere I go, yo I gets laughed at And when I'm in my car I'm laid back I got an 8-track and a spare tire in the backseat But that's flat And do you really wanna know what's really wack, What See I can't even get a date So, what do you think of that? I heard that prom night is the bomb night With a hood rat you can hold tight But really tho' on figuero When I'm in my car I can't even get a hello Well so many people wanna cruise Crenshaw on Sunday Well then I'm gonna have to get in my car and go You know I take the 110 to the 105 Get off on Crenshaw tell my homies look alive Cause it's hard to survive Livin' in a concrete jungle and These girls just keep passin' me by She looks fly, she looks fly Makes me say my, my, my (rpt 1, 1) I wish I was a little bit taller... I wish I was a baller... I wish I was a little bit taller y'all I wish I was a baller (3) Hey, I wish I had my way 'Cause everyday would be a Friday You could even speed on the highway I would play ghetto games Name my kids ghetto names Little Mookie, big Al, Lorraine Yo you know that's on the real So if you're down on your luck Then you should know just how I feel Cause if you don't want me around See I go simple, I go easy, I go greyhound Hey, you, what's that sound? Everybody look what's going down Ahhhh, yes, ain't that fresh? Everybody wants to get down like that (rpt 1, 1) I wish, I wish, I wish... |

Patty Loveless/I Don't Want to Feel Like That
Cried myself to sleep last night And I don't want to feel like that no more Woke up before the morning light And I don't want to feel like that no more I couldn't think one thought that didn't start with your name I couldn't see one day that wasn't more of the same And I don't want to feel like that I don't want to feel like that no more I don't want to feel like that I said I had to get it off my chest I don't want to play that game no more I could've lied a little more or less But I don't want to play that game no more If you're not willing to hear what I have to say It's too late 'cause now I've said it anyway And I don't want to feel like that I don't want to feel like that no more I don't want to feel like my life's hanging by a string I don't want to feel like I ain't feeling anything I cried myself to sleep last night And I don't want to feel like that no more I said a prayer with all my might Said I don't want to feel like this no more Got myself in this mess, I can get myself out Starting right here and I'm starting right now 'Cause I don't want to feel like that I don't want to feel like that no more I don't want to feel like that I don't want to feel like that I don't want to feel like that no more I don't want to feel like that no more ****** Kelly Willis/That'll Be Me Sometimes in the middle of the night I reach for you in my dreams Then I lay awake till the morning light tired of remembering The river runs wide here the river runs deep I'd give that river my soul to keep If I could only finally sleep awhile That'll be me howlin' in the wind Every time I come across your tracks again Tell me how long has it been since I've been free If you see a fire on the mountain side All around the places I used to hide That'll be me that'll be me [ mandolin ] You and I we're gypsy born under the same old sign If my tears for you are a thunderstorm my love is the sweet sunshine You can't run far enough to ever quite outrun my love I know who you're thinking of tonight That'll be me walkin' through your mind Talkin' to your heart most all the time Stirring up memories of mine like a gentle breeze If you hear somebody singin' you this song Like they could sing it to you all night long That'll be me that'll be me [ steel ] That'll be me howlin' in the wind Every time I come across your tracks again Tell me how long has it been since I've been free If you hear somebody singin' you this song Like they could sing it to you all night long That'll be me that'll be me That'll be me that'll be me |

Springsteen - Cautious Man
Never has there been better words written about the dichotomy of marriage and how we want to stay while at the same time yearn for leaving. Bill Horton was a cautious man of the road He walked lookin' over his shoulder and remained faithful to its code When something caught his eye he'd measure his need And then very carefully he'd proceed Billy met a young girl in the early days of May It was there in her arms he let his cautiousness slip away In their lovers twilight as the evening sky grew dim He'd lay back in her arms and laugh at what had happened to him On his right hand Billy tattooed the word love and on his left hand was the word fear And in which hand he held his fate was never clear Come Indian summer he took his young lover for his bride And with his own hands built a great house down by the riverside Now Billy was an honest man he wanted to do what was right He worked hard to fill their lives with happy days and loving nights Alone on his knees in the darkness for steadiness he'd pray For he knew in a restless heart the seed of betrayal lay One night Billy awoke from a terrible dream callin' his wife's name She lay breathing beside him in a peaceful sleep, a thousand miles away He got dressed in the moonlight and down to the highway he strode When he got there he didn't find nothing but road Billy felt a coldness rise up inside him that he couldn't name Just as the words tattooed 'cross his knuckles he knew would always remain At their bedside he brushed the hair from his wife's face as the moon shone on her skin so white Filling their room with the beauty of God's fallen light |

Where do bad folks go when they die?
They don't go to heaven where the angels fly They go to a lake of fire and fry Won't see them again until the Fourth of July |

Re: Greatest song lyrics ever
Just when I thought could I hit another one
So up jumps see me with the pumps and a bump All stiggitty stiggity girls, getting on my good nerves Looking like ice cream ready to be served Wreck it, check it, can I get in it If you wanna kick it with a G baby here's me Cause I come equipped, I'm a pimp, a slippity slip, I suppose you take a trip Pumps and a bump, Pumps and a bump, we like the girls with the Pumps and a bump! Pumps and a bump, Pumps and a bump, we like the girls with the Pumps and a bump! Pumps and a bump, Pumps and a bump, we like the girls with the Pumps and a bump! Or He was a boy She was a girl Can i make it any more obvious He was a punk She did ballet What more can i say He wanted her She'd never tell secretly she wanted him as well But all of her friends Stuck up their nose They had a problem with his baggy clothes He was a skater boy She said see you later boy He wasn't good enough for her She had a pretty face But her head was up in space She needed to come back down to earth |
