Deloused in the Comatorium > all At The Drive-In albums.

Relationship belongs over Deloused.

where is Daryn when we need him, god damn, all you idiots do this whenever a thread starts about rock groups, you all spew out indie band after indie band, all of which are basically like 4 years old at the most. Get of your highhorse's already,

You're a champion at contributing, Monsieur Daryn's-Bitch.

Let's see. You replied to MacDaddy Warsaw, so let's go with him.

Failure's Fantastic Planet came out in 1996. Dismemberment Plan formed in 1993. Built to Spill's There's Nothing Wrong With Love came out in 1994.

Uh, most of the bands on my list are from the early 90's.

#1 Kid A - Radiohead
#2 OK Computer - Radiohead
#3 The Soft Bulletin - Flaming Lips
#4 In the Aeroplane Over the Sea - Neutral Milk Hotel
#5 Yankee Hotel Foxtrot - Wilco
#6 Chutes Too Narrow - The Shins
#7 Funeral - Arcade Fire
#8 Is This It - The Stokes
#9 Loveless - My Bloody Valentine
#10 Oh Inverted World - The Shins

Yoshimi is only a great album for the first 5 or so songs, IMO. After that it becomes merely good. And I may just like Chutes too Narrow more because I heard it first.

Edit: I really want Surfer Rosa and Pinkerton on this list, but can't trade them with anything.

OP had three "indie" bands in his list. Wilco was an "indie" band.

Though I sorta agree at the same time, I'm guilty of this.

I don't do lists.

[/ QUOTE ]

Lists are [censored] hard.

ok, fine...

1. BtS - Keep It Like a Secret
2. BtS - There's Nothing Wrong with Love
3. BtS - Perfect from Now On
4. Dismemberment Plan - Emergency & I

It gets dicey after 4...

5. Failure - Fantastic Planet
6. Hum - You'd Prefer an Astronaut (Needs Some Love)
7. Broken Social Scene - You Forgot It in People
8. The Beta Band - Three EP's
9. American Analog Set - Promise of Love (Should be much higher but I'm lazy, let's put this at 5 and move everything down)
10. Ted Leo & The Pharmacists - Hearts of Oak (just giving my man some love)

Hum maybe shouldn't be on there. Replace them with Wrens - Meadowlands and give them honorable mention.

Honorable mention goes to bands like Modest Mouse, Flaming Lips, Wilco, Interpol, Strokes, and a bunch of other bands that are too popular to make it on my top 10 list because I'm an indie rock kid and I just looooooove that obscure [censored]. /sarc

Anyway, there goes my list. Rock and roll.

EDIT: Also, I just got into them but Calexico rocks, but I'm not sure how "rock" they are. Also, if Calexico gets a mention then so do the Decemberists.

dude, about 50% of these albums I have heard off and heard( I like most of them), but I cannot possibly see how you guys can think they are some of the best CD's ever. I mean, if you guys like them fine, thats your list, which I think is a huge distinction. No one will agree on whats #1, or whats better, everyone has their own opinions. All this indie rock circle jerk-fest are annoying as hell, and thats all I am sayin, and part of the reason I usually avoid these threads is because of how ridiculous they get.

The title of the post is "Best Rock Albums Since 1990." We're obviously not going to mention the Beatles or Velvet Underground or Harry Nillson or anything.
