[ QUOTE ]
Raymer basically won the tournament at this point last year. He says he went from 5mil in chips to 8mil while they were on the "TV bubble". These chips allowed him to run over the final table and maintain a healthy lead to apply pressure. Black seems to be a knowledgable tournament player and I would imagine he is aware that he is wasting a lot of potential by calling in this marginal +cEV situation. I think you may be underestimating how much can be gained by the big stack in a situation like this.

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree. Just looking at the payout structure. There isn't a jump this big until 3rd and 4th. Also, the fame that will come with making the final table. The lower stacked players must be very nervous right now and Black looks to be taking advantage of this.

I don't disagree that bubble preservation is a consideration, I just think that in that particular hand he folded because he had crap cards and it was simply -EV to call against what was certain to be a strong hand. Of course, we won't know for sure until we see his hole cards on ESPN. (In other words we can settle this argument in a few months ).

1/10. Nowhere in your post did you say "make a move." You also didn't repeatedly say "mAn" like Tony would. And where's the censored words? Try harder.

No 15 tackles for losses in '95, no care.
