Re: KK, top set and I\'m bet into by EP...wait for turn to raise?
[ QUOTE ]
I almost can't lose, and almost everyone is probably drawing dead. [/ QUOTE ] You could easily lose to a straight. NOTE: As someone else suggested, I found it helpful to refer to SSHE, at pages 266-267 and at 275-78, where two similar but contrasting hands are presented involving sets, different strength boards, and the question of when to slowplay (sorry for the appeal to authority, but as I said, I found it helpful). |

Raise. Consider slowplaying only if 1) the pot is small and 2) you are facing a lone opponent or too.
In this case, the pot is a good size already with lots of opponents. Ram and Jam! |

I'm really trying to figure out why this thread has 41 responces so far. This is an easy raise. I mean really easy. I think a lot of you guys are thinking too much. You hope BB 3 bets so you can cap.

Re: KK, top set and I\'m bet into by EP...wait for turn to raise?
Yes, I'd have to agree that you should be hitting this one hard on the flop for a few reasons:
1) The first guy said that the flop bettor may not continue to bet into a ton of people, this would be particularly true if he had less than top pair, and since you have the kings, it's likely that he has less than top pair. 2) If a guy has a straight draw on this flop, he may pump it now, but slow down on the turn. 3) you've got a TON of people in on this flop, and a lot of people throw away gutshots on the turn but keep them on the flop 4) You've got enough equity that you're not overly concerned with protecting your hand here: you've got a great redraw if they hit their straight on the turn. -------- So kill it. ------- You wanted to know if it were HU what the best play would be, though... |

[ QUOTE ]
*edit- If I raise now it dries up the turn action unless I'm beat yes? It's gonna be checked to me unless someone hits their straight yes? [/ QUOTE ] Problems: 1) It may dry up regardless of whether or not you raise 2) People do like their donkbets, particularly if a blank comes off. |

One other thing, if this guy (or anyone has and they're slowplaying) a set, you'll make money on all streets... get it while you can. If you wait to raise the turn, even a set may slow down.

Also, people may donk a straight card if it gives them two pair or a turned set.
Defintely raise the turn no matter what. Call down if you're three-bet, read-dependent (i.e. always call down, but cap vs a maniac). |

I wait for the turn, and if you like money and kicking babies as much as I do, you wait too. [/ QUOTE ] I'm with you half-way here. Money's never thrilled me. |
