I [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] coldcalling with QJs. It's by far my biggest coldcalling hand, and I'd go ahead and do so here. Heck, I'd do it even if the blinds were going to fold. For metagame reasons you have to coldcall from time to time, and IMO QJs is the best hand to do it with.

To me, QJs is probably the most enjoyable hand to play in holdem, though 98s is close.

3-bet.

by 3-betting, I now own the entire top half of the deck.

pretty much any 2 cards from 8-A will get me a great hand, or get my opponent to fold heads-up.

and i'm pretty sure you'll know whow to play this hand from the button with 4 opponents for 3 bets, if they come along.

hey wow someone agrees with me.

I agree with both of you FWIW.

I hope both Evan and Jason both post their descions and their thoughts behind them at some point.

To me Im either folding or 3-betting. It depends how I feel the table is going and if I think one of the blinds is really coming along. I hate calling (if anyones argument is strong enough Id move my opinon from "hate" to "minor dislike").

Anyway...Im sure u have good timing on when a thread starts to die out so post your answers whenever u feel is good. Im curious.

jason wants to cold call, evan wants to fold, (or 3bet before cold call)

Evan thinks jason cold calls to much and he is probably right. there ya go.

I like 3 betting here b/c I like playing w/position. If we both miss the flop, I can represent a ton more hands and take down the pot w/a flop bet more often. Domination is not a huge concernt to me as most of the 3/6 players will fold if they miss the flop. I.E. if he's got KJ and the flop is A high, it think I take down the pot. On top of that, a lof players in 3/6 will raise w/low and middle PPs. Theses are also hands that you can fold on the flop if you miss and the flop contains overcards.

Calling isn't terrible either and folding isn't too bad as well but I really think 3 betting is prolly your best option.

Could someone explain to me why many people were behind 3-betting KQs here and many people are behind folding QJs here.

[/ QUOTE ]

cuz they are dumb. they will give you some crap about K high having better showdown value, but they are full of it.

[/ QUOTE ]

it has nothing to do with showdown value and everything to do with how likely you are to be dominated.
