Re: Microposter needs to open up preflop.
[ QUOTE ]
I usually fold AQo to a raise in full ring, and I would argue that anything else at this level is just flatly wrong. One common mistake among .5/1 players is that they don't raise PF nearly enough. Thus, when one does raise, AQo compares very unfavorably with their range of hands. Against an aggressive raiser, you might dominate AJ, AT, or KQ, or you might have overcards against something like 99, but .5/1 players routinely limp all of those hands. When a guy who has a PFR of < 5% raises, you're looking at AK, AA, KK, or QQ way more often than would be the case against a good player. I would call a raise out of the blinds, and I might play against an aggressive opponent, but against a typical micro-limit fish or rock this is a pretty straightforward muck. If you're "always at least calling" with AQo, that's a leak. [/ QUOTE ] um always folding it is wrong too, and there is a big difference from a CO openraise and an UTG openraise, and its very player dependent, but there are def. a lot of players(though still in the minority) that its a 3bet with in a few spots. blanket statements don't really work for poker |

Re: Microposter needs to open up preflop.
I didn't say I always folded.
I agree there are definitely situations in which this is playable, usually with a 3-bet. |
