Turn was a Queen. Everyone checked to me and I called.

This looks like a bet or check to me. I can't see calling ever being right.

now let's look at your origional post...

Was playing at Pacific Poker in a sit and go.

I had Q-K and the flop was 2-9-10. Everyone checked.

Turn was a Queen. Everyone checked to me and I called. Had one other caller.

River was another Queen to make a board of 2-9-10-Q-Q and give me trip queens. I was escatic and went all in.

What did the other guy have? 10-10

At first I was confused as to how I was beaten. When I realised I had a full house then turned to dumbfounded.

I thought I had the nuts although anyone with 2-2, 9-9, 10-10, 8-J or J-K was going to beat me.

But still.........

Going to keep trying at Pacific Poker. You won't believe this but I have had some success there. Just haven't posted it.

Hopefully will have a good beat story of my own to post soon

and then a previous post:

Your metal gear solid 3 must be imaginary because only played you in the demo room.

[/ QUOTE ]

i don't think so...

so you go to the demo rooms even though you played the WSOP?...

you went from 1K to over 7K EVEN THOUGH you thought you had the nuts when you had trips...

with this much experience, wouldn't you find these types of hands mediocre, after seeing bad beats (i use the term even though it wasn't a bad beat) so many times in your poker playing career?

logic flaw: apparently you've wiped the floor with me, thus you play in the micro limit SNGs, (i don't play anything else)... but you've gone from 1K to 7K...?

if you were an expert live, then i cant beleive that it would be MUCH of a transition. theory is much more important than any live element.

i'd guess your age to be 14-17 tops. i can't believe ANY 27 year old would be so damn stupid!

no... that mabye true for the $2000-$4000 game you play with jonny, gus, doyle and jennifer, at the B&M, but in the micros? they can't underestimate you, they aren't even paying attention!

for the good of the poker world, and 2+2ers everywhere, please keep playing poker, and never give up.

whoopsie, realsied that later, but my point holds, that surely this guy would know that it's impossible for trips to be the nuts.

While it wasn't nuts I felt that the way everyone was betting that I had the best hand.

Its no different then when a guy has an Ace and wins with a pair of Aces when an Ace is on the board.

Many times he will win with this hand and may think he is going to do so again only for someone else to have a pair of something in the hole which finds a match on the board to give him trips.

My point is that sometimes, based on the betting you think you have the nuts only to be the victim of being slowplayed.

Heck - thats exactly what I was trying to do to the other guy.

It's worked a treat when I've had A-A in the hole and a King or Queen comes in the flop because the other guy think he has top pair and isn't expecting to be beaten. His logic would be that the guy wouldn't check if he had A-A.

This is the gameplan I think works well with online poker. Everyone is a cowboy and loves to intimidate and bully with big raises when they are holding 5-3.

So I wait for when I have a big hand and then come over the top.

Love that you don't refute this point.

look I really dont wanna flame, and Im not.

but you'd think with an MBA from Stanford, they woulda covered sarcasm.

on the other side of things Dave, you have to bet on the turn, a probe bet.. to feel out for the trips, straight, yada ya.

at pacific... at that level, I can almost guarantee! that with those trips he'll raise you.

and even a call, given the right amount of probe bet, will have to look suspiciously like a slowplay.

Hmmm, interesting strategy. Sign up as an affiliate, post a lame bad beat post that's guaranteed to get 'em all riled up and garner lots of attention. Add a couple links to your new favorite website ("You can win lots of money because idiots like me play there!") and start counting the pennies.

Schwing.
