[ QUOTE ]
I made a post about 5 years ago under my old handle about a call down I made with King high in the Bell 15-30 game that I thought clearly was correct and you were the only one of about 20 posters who agreed with me. [/ QUOTE ] If you don't mind my asking, was this "Bell game" in LA? There is a city of Bell that used to have a club (located half way between the Commerce and Bike not close to the freeway) and the Bike is in Bell Gardens. ~ Rick |

yeah i know that river card was a real bummer. that's why i check-called, i sensed it was a big turd on my parade.
one other reason i checked is because some players wimp out with an overpair on that river after being 3 bet on the turn. especially with the four straight and the flush getting there. so there was value in two ways to my check. as for check-folding that river, i just cant do that in that game yet, i just have to pay off. |

I've read only a few of the responses, but I like the flop play when used against players who like to steal the blinds. Your 6 T and Q outs are probably clean, plus a backdoor flush draw, plus fold equity, plus the possibility that you're actually already ahead.
Also nice meta-game ramifications, for anyone paying attention. Not a play to be used all that often, but this is a necessary part of any good player's arsenal. |
