half decent cool kids... it's the honors dorm.

Our idea of "cool" must be hugely different....

Maybe it's me, but this sounds like the most annoying person ever.

I think I'd have shot myself if that was my freshman roomate

and I never put the honors dorm and really cool into the same sentance, like ever

It's all a matter of perspective.

I also found out today he's brilliant, and spent a few months in Paraguayh working community service. And in doing that, eh got into Foundation Fellows (only 25 at UGA get in, it's up there with getting an Ivy League education.

I did not rush, and now I'm beginning to regret it, as there is a crapload of fraternities and I gotta believe one woulda matched my interests. I will definitely rush in the spring if that's an option.

Now I just gotta find some people who know about parties. Yesterday and today were "moving days" so everyone's a little tired in some respect, I have to think there's gotta be something going on sometime soon.

Amazingly, hot chicks do exist in the honors dorm. I was amazed. I've seen maybe 3. 5 more in the "cute" category.

Funny thing, girls are rushing to and I went outside to throw one of my cardboard boxed in the dumpster. Across the street about 150 feet away there's 80-100 platinum blonde bombshells all talking out on the lawn, getting ready to get on a bus to go to another sororiety.

I'm not used to seeing 100 hot girls congregating on a lawn in yellow dresses.

Alot of colleges in the south have strong greek systems. You should rush in the spring if you want to get the most out of your college experience.

i mean what do you base this on? i never considered joining a frat but did so because my friends were, and i don't regret it. it's been a great time. in my experience "frat guys" are the same as any other guy. sure, there's some lame ones, but there's a lot of lame people out there.

I was in a fraternity in college, and I still don't know what a "frat guy" is. It's a great thing to do while you're in college.

What I can't understand is why it is that guys who were in a fraternity don't make a huge deal out of it (in my experience), while the guys who weren't hate them with such passion. I'm sure there are some guys who didn't join one and are indifferent about them. But, it seems like the anti-fraternity crowd has way too much animosity towards something that has no bearing on them.

To Clayton, I suggest you at least give rush a try in the spring. I'm almost certain UGA will have a spring rush. Most SEC schools do. You seem to have enough interest in it that the rush process will give you a good idea as to whether it's something you would enjoy.

Ive taken a break from school for a year, and Im going back to a local college here before I go up to state in the spring. I would join a frat but I'll be 21 this January and wouldn't fit in with the age gap, and there will be the bar scene to attend to.

Before I graduated high school I was planning on rushing, if not for the social events and the girls it was for the connections after school.
