Default Re: What I did

Given the stack sizes I like this line because it isn't a huge overbet and it doesn't leave us out of position on a blank turn with money left to bet.

Against bad players I would play this hand the same way I play a set and just lead/3-bet all-in.... but against someone who would wait and see with AK/AQ we are going to be in a bad spot on the turn if it comes up the Crap of Poops. Also, in this hand, lead/3-betting might get our opponent pot stuck and induce him to call with a hand we would like him to fold.

If the stacks were different I might do something else... given where they are I think checking and going from there is good.

C/R all in seems like a fine way to play this hand to me. What I'm more interested in, what is the best line for pfr if he has AK? Can he call c/r all-in ? Should he bet the flop at all?

This is a fun hand to have, but I think a more interesting, or at least a more difficult question, is how to play it when you are much deeper.

When you have 300 or 400 big blinds behind, as is not uncommon in a certain 10/20 online game, checkraising all in on the flop is clearly a bad idea as you tend to get called only by sets and 2 pair.

If you are out of position and checkraise big, as I would usually do, what do you do when you are called and the turn is a brick? Or when you are reraised 50 more big blinds?

In position I will usually just call when deep.

i really don't understnad your line or any of the posts in this thread. the lead out doesn't make sense to me. why not just check/call the flop and then play from there. why are people so opposed to waiting until they hit a big hand to get all th emoney in, everyone is jumping at the opportunity to be aggresive go all in and run it.

i started writing out what i'd do depending on the turn card but there are so many variables. if a low flush card came i might check it and hope, if a high one came that could have given him a stronger draw or hit him lead out, leading out in general seems a much better play if you hit an 8 or a flush.

if you miss, there's a good chance you get a free card when behind, if you get the right feel you can c/r all in bluff although that shold be rare, or check/call if ou are getting the right odds and feel you have implied odds, or maybe fold.

I'm not sure any of the responses suggested the line I decided to take.

I play this hand many different ways. Today, this is what I did.

I checked. PFR bet pot. Button folded. I checkraised all-in.

[/ QUOTE ]

this seems like a good way to waste the value of this hand and sets in the future?
