I talk about expected value all the time, but that's an actual term you can apply to real life. The only term I used mostly, is "all-in". Commonly used when I play magic and when I basically have to sacrifice my board in order to win the game that can be easily disrupted. [/ QUOTE ] Well most M:tGers are wannabe poker pros anyway. The only notable exceptions are those that actually are.

Has anyone ever read Bluff magazine? That thing is the worse. They use "the nuts", "pocket rockets", and "All-in" as much as possible. [/ QUOTE ] I think "pocket rockets" is painfully lame even when used in the contet of poker.

During a class I had last semester I dropped EV stuff all the time...
...of course it was a basic statistics class, so it was usually like "If you bet 2 dollars to win 10 dollars every time dice rolled a 6, this would be..." I got an A.
