Your plan is to stack him if you hit a set. Do you really think you'll be able to stack AJ here? Build the pot while you can. I'm looking to get it all in on the turn.

I lead out for 3/4ths pot. AK might raise you, AQ definitely will raise you (or if he's cute, will just call slow-playing), AJ might call. There's no flush draws out there, so a check-raise might really give off the strength of your hand. Basically this is a hit or miss kind of flop for a preflop raiser. If he had a pair that didn't hit a set, then you'll lose him, but I think it's more likely they have an AK through AJ than a pair.

I had this exact same flop and situation tonight. I lead out for the equivalent of $9 in your pot, got called, so the pot was $30 on the turn.. it was a blank, I bet another $15, got called, river was another blank, I bet $25, got called and he had AK. I don't think I get more money with any other line there. Keep in mind that AK wont go TOO far with a reasonable player because they might be concerned about AQ.
