Don't mean to steal Daryn's thunder, but it was I that said that in the other thread. For me it is always pocket jacks.

"Let me just put it this way... you made a good fold." Whether the fold was good for him or you is another story.

I really liked Layne Flack's response to Mike Matesow on the WPT last week

Layne " Just ask me Mike"

Mike "What do you have?"

Layne "You beat"

Most of the time I just tell them the truth. Most of the time they aren't paying close enough attention for it to matter if you turned your hole cards up after every hand. Once the hand is mucked, the strong players usually dont put alot of value in what people said they had. The bad players WON'T alter their play anyway, and the good players wont just believe you because you said you had middle set and fold bottom set next time.

Pocket hubcaps cracked me up though, I might try that one just too see if someone tries to figure out which pocket pair it could be.

From an old Saturday Night Live skit for Jeopardy, say Threeves, a combination of threes and fives

I think you should make up a name for a hand, say it straight like everyone should know what it means.

"I had a Jolly Roger."

"Oh, I had Pocket Hippies."

"My cards? Oh just a couple of Hubcaps."

[/ QUOTE ]

I woke up my roommate laughing out loud at this post. Well done, sir. Well done.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yup...The "Jolly Roger" just got me glares at work for laughing...! That is
my new official answer!

Thanks for the laugh!
