Neko Case.

When Aimee Mann is live and underamplified she can sound a little nasally. She sounds great on CDs.

I didn't scan the whole thing so these could have been mentioned.

Women: Norah Jones (I also agree on Sarah McLachlan)
men: IZ

I actually don't listen much to Norah Jones but in her popular songs her voice sounds nice.

Too True.

Margo Timmins is insanely good. I saw her (Cowboy Junkies) in Hamilton this summer. She has the sexiest stage presence/voice ever. Michael (her brother) writes amazing songs for her to sing as well.

El D. check out Neko Case's Blacklisted album. Dark and very powerful album different from pretty much anything else available today (similar to Patti Smith maybe?).

OMFG, that is so completely true. She has an insanely pretty voice. Kim Deal rules.

To those who mentioned Neko Case, I agree. She performs both solo and w/ the New Pornographers all the time here in SF.
