Wow that's an easy one:

Denmark winning the European Soccer Championship with a 2-0 victory over Germany.

"New York, New York" after Yankee games

[/ QUOTE ]

I f'n hate the Yankees more than anyone but I still feel that feeling when hearing the song after a win. It will be after a 19-2 blowout of the Tigers, or when they have a 13th inning walk off grand slam.

It symbolizes each win as important as any other, and remaining humble yet being the most pompous bunch of jerks in baseball.

And as for the best moment, it hands down goes to when hockey teams step onto the ice in playoff overtime. I can just hear Gary Thorne going ape [censored] when someone scores the game winner and the mob of insanity in the crowd provided its the home-team.

And a random benefit of playoff hockey. No freakin commerical breaks during overtime.

My dislike for the sport notwithstanding, when they carry around the Stanley Cup, passing it from player to player.

One of my favorites is the football players singing the Washington State University fight song with the students after a win. 10x pts. if it's after an Apple Cup win (yes, insert joke that this doesn't happen often enough here).

I watched an Aussie rules football game at the MCG in Melbourne several years ago. After the game all of the kids in the stands immediately ran onto the field and started kicking their footballs around. That was pretty cool.

The forum needs a more light hearted topic for discussion:

What is the best moment in sports?

There are certain moments that you can rely upon to give you your money's worth every time.

For example: Cal Football. Traditionally, the team sucks, but I get my money's worth when the band rolls onto the field before the game. It is great. A bomb goes off in endzone and the drum major high steps to the 50. The band follows playing "Hail to California."

TUBA! TUBA! TUBA!

I'm not a big hockey fan, but I really like when they line up and shake hands after a playoff series is over.

I was friends with one of the tuba players and considering his ample girth it was amazing he could walk, let alone prance onto the field.
