Default Re: For All The Red Sox Newbies

[ QUOTE ]
By the way, SaltCracka, I suppose you deserve an explanation.

The Red Sox are the premier, numero uno, undisputable Chokemasters in the entire world of Sports. No other professional team, in any sport anywhere in the world, even holds a candle to them in this department.

Give them a 3-0 lead in games the next time they make it to the World Series, and a healthy lead in the 4th game, and you are flipping a coin if they win the series or not. In fact the true odds would probably be against them at that point, regardless of their opposition. They have a seemingly supernatural ability to choke in the clutch, that is all, and the strength of this power sems to increase in accordance with how close they are to a grand victory.

You, Daryn, and Joe Tall will all be old and grey before the Red Sox ever win a world series again.

I know you don't believe me, but you will, eventually. Daryn and Joe Tall will learn the hard way because they are from Boston and will cling to frail hope longer than the others.

If you don't believe me, ask John Cole. He knows too. Or should I say, he KNOWS, but he just doesn't want to really admit it. Hell, what would be the fun in that?

So you guys have your fun rooting for the Sox. I've always shot straight on this forum. Twenty years from now don't say M didn't tell you how it really is, and how it always will be. And no, Daryn, I'm not joking even in the slightest. This is the cold and painful truth.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm already close to being old and gray, so I hear ya. They broke my heart in 1986 and although I'm still a fan and still root for them, I'll never allow myself to get that passionate and emotionally involved about them again.

In '86, I was just about Joe's and Daryl's age now so I can say MMMMMM speaks the truth.

Not that it's that much but I do have 10 or 11 years on Daryn.

Go Sox,

I'm surprised they don't as El Dukie can't find the plate all of a sudden.

Go Big Poppy!

Cmon, Salty throw us a bone at least. The Patriots were kind enough to do the same for your beloved Hawks this afternoon.
