Was it me or was the play, as a whole, very painful to watch? Negreanu also seemed to be dominated in atleast 80% of the hands he played that they showed.

[/ QUOTE ]

negreanu was at least nice, he acted like it was no big deal every time he got crushed.

very classy, IMO

[/ QUOTE ]

agreed. My opinion of him has changed drastically. At first I thought he was annoying and borderline-homo. Now, I think hes actually funny and a class guy.

I also used to think he was annoying and borderline-homo, now I realize that he's just Canadian. He has been very impressive in his other events so far.

Watched both shows on Tivo last night. My thoughts.

Man, I got to win me a seat to this thing. Wow, was there some bad play by the newbies.

That look on Men's face...

Farha is funny as hell. His read on the guy with K8s was awesome..."you're shaking". Probably shoulda raised the turn though. That laydown of TPTK, nut flush was incredible.

We finally see Negreanu get screwed by his calling with junk hands he likes to see flops with. Though it was nice to see him admit he played poorly by trying to bluff the unbluffable.

I have no problem with Annie Duke (I appreciate her contributions to this forum, I wish more name pros would contribute here), but enough coverage of her already. Every damn show they have to interview her or show her doing something. I don't think she's even been at a featured table (they didn't have any shows on hi/lo games where she won her bracelet). Enough of the "mom that plays poker" angle, she's just another of the many pros playing, let it go already.

You just knew that Jesus suck out was coming on the end. The whole "I survived Jesus" foreshawdowing and all, that I know where he ended up overall. At least he looked genuinely disgusted with himself and embarrased by getting all his money in with the worst of it and sucking out. Unlike some previous participants.

They just showed a couple glimpses of Greg. I'm not sure when he first appears at a featured table, but my guess is not until well into the money. I could be wrong. They're sure to introduce him soon and comment on him as a chip leader--he was in the top 20 pretty much the whole tourney--but my guess is that his little profile piece won't come until near the end. Of course, the profile will likely be of him as an "amatuer, online player" attorney, despite the fact that he's practically a pro with backers and everything.

The more I see 'Jesus', the more I like the guy and respect the player. And, as soon as they showed the dude had AA, you knew his day was done and Chris was going to take him out.

As to Negreanu... Just something about him I still don't like. I am sort of homophobic, so maybe it's the borderline-homo thing he has going on.

Can anyone explain to me why Moneymaker called an all-in bet with A high? Was he that short-stacked? And while you are at it, also explain why he thought it was a good idea to stay up drinking til 6am the night before the main event.

[/ QUOTE ]

I am not a Chris Moneymaker hater and don't see any point in bashing someone because of their success, but he looked lost last night. If it is true that he was up until 6am drinking then he made a terrible decision. Sitting there sweating beer, most likely with a ripping headache, looking like he is going to blow chunks on the table. Oh, and not to mention not thinking clearly from a lack of sleep.

I think it was all reflected very clearly in his play. What an error on his part.

In other news, Farha is a pimp.

Someday, someone's gonna have to 'splain to me what the attraction of drinking beer until 6 AM is, and why so many people can't seem to conduct productive lives without doing that every once in a while.

Not sure if it will be shown (I was a little too focused to look for cameras) but watch for me busting Johnny World with AA vs KK mid-way through Day 2 (3).

I was amazed by that laydown as well. I mean, you'd have to use physical force to divorce my hand from those cards.

I think Farha "sees" a few tells very well. This would explain some of these hands. But I think he simply didn't want to mix it up with Juanda. Several years ago, Farha got beat bad by John.

Some of Sam's plays were real average though. His play of those 6's was amateurish. He was simply making crying calls. If he reads him for a bluff, why not raise? It was a perfect opportunity to take that pot then.

I think his status as a "star",from last year, made him play too many, too far and not concentrate as well.

Keep playing hard! (nice to see you again Ken P. Remember me, K10Suited??)

i dont understand why they showed so many hands of a person who just learned the game 4 days ago with so many great players in that tourney...

also why are they showing the guy who came in last place in 2003?!?! do they really think we want to know how every person that wants to waste 10k does?? it doesnt make sense to me so many great players in that field and they waste a half an hour on those two

at least the main event was much better than the other all in final tables, but still could have been a lot better.

Rafe's one of the Tiltboys (along with the notable Phil Gordon). He probably made a bet with the ESPN producers that they wouldn't showcase him for 15 minutes on the first ep of WSOP Main Event just so he could get on (much like he did for that NPR interview)

Because Farha wants to snap off a bluff on the river.
