Yes, when I cash a check it shows up as both a deposit and withdrawal for the same amount. Of course I have a very backward bank, actually a credit union to be precise.

In short, I believe you are being reckless by giving people this advice in no uncertain terms, as if it were a well-settled issue. The fact is, the issue has not been decided by any court, and I don't think anyone is looking to incur the expense associated with being the first one to litigate the issue.

I fully agree. I'd advise anyone reading these tax threads to not adhere to any specific knowledge, but just to get a general idea of what to talk to with a professional.

yes, but tax laws are subject to the interpatation of those judging them. two professionals can easily reach two different conclusions, and so can two judges. just do what you feel is correct.

ROFLMAO. Sure, two professionals can reach different conclusions, but they are both going to be a hell of a lot closer to correct than you are if you guess or "do what you feel is correct". Personally, I feel it would be correct for me to not have to pay sh*t, but I think least 2 out 3 tax professions would disagree with me.

This combined with your "Go To Thailand" post makes me wonder if you really are a "college player". What College do you go too? When are they planning on teaching you anything?
