So we should believe everything reported in the media?

Like the forecast of 10,000 dead - which turned out to be an urban legend too.

Where did that 'forecast' gain notoriety? Drudge Report. So they report this stuff then say 'see, see'.

What if you had insurance and a savings account and knew that everything would get replaced anyway? Who are you to judge other people's choices?

[/ QUOTE ]

Then you don't need the free handout.
People donated money so people could get their essentials, not because they just felt bad for them. If Donald Trump loses a million dollars on some real estate, we don't feel bad for him and give him a debit card, because he's got enough cake to care for himself.

So far there are no facts to discuss here but it is inevitable that some donk will be spending the money they were given to meet their basic needs on some sort of luxury item. It's like those stories you here about people buying lobster with foodstamps. It's kind of the price you pay to help the large amount of people who really need the charity.
But people have the right to ask how their donated money is being spent instead of being told this "who are we to judge?" crap.

What is the prediction of how many dead? I had heard on the radio (right-wing station), that the cost of lives isnt even in hte top 25 of US natural disasters. Monetarily, it is one of the highest. But, I have no facts to back this up.

This is exactly what i was getting at. I relize there are no facts because the media sucks but still its rediculous.

What I would like to see is the picture of the 250 licenced bus drivers who had already fled the city.
