Re: The floor\'s decision.....
[ QUOTE ]
post it on the Internet for expert analysis. [/ QUOTE ] This line made me laugh. I definitely agree with the floor's ruling. |

Re: betting lines and procedures, rules
[ QUOTE ]
As far as angle shooters thriving with NL bets being made in a continuous motion instead of a single motion, this is a management decision. Angle shooters can only thrive if you allow them to play. [/ QUOTE ] Angle shooting isn't the only issue here. As a dealer I prefer not to have to be the one to make a decision about whether a player stopped or was still in motion. The single motion rule makes my job easier, and I really don't believe that there is any negative impact from the rule. |

Re: betting lines and procedures, rules
[ QUOTE ]
He had jsut gotten back from a trip to Vegas. People asked him how it was if he played poker etc. He said he played poker for a little bit, but that he quit because they cheated him. [/ QUOTE ] This point IMO is irrelevant. After being a pit dealer for 8 years, I know for a fact that people think they are being cheated at casino. I get asked all the time how they rig the games to make you lose and so on. Yes I know, its from a lack of common sense or intelligence, but it's still very common. I know people who wouldn't even go to the casino I worked at because they think its nothing but cheating their guests, even though I work there and will explain otherwise. |

None of this TV bs of the dramatization in betting helps quite a bit. Just say it, and the move it would clear up a lot of confusion as to when the player is finished with his betting. |

[/ QUOTE ] This is a different situation. This is a matter of havign a new palyer feelign cheated becasue he doesn't understand the rules. I have seen many players pick up and leave becasue they fealt cheated, that the rules we being applied unevenly between tehm and the locals. If you don't see why this is a problem jsut remeber that the poker boom won't last forever. It wasnt' that long ago that the poker staff had to give every guest in their room individual attention and make them feel welcome. |

Actually the pit games are all rigged against the players . . . That is the point isn't it. Its not cheating because your told the rules up front, but its still rigged. |

Re: NLH Decision – “more angles than a protractor!”
I don't think this has been mentioned yet, but what if Player A held the nuts? Upon hearing player B say Call, Player A could have continued betting all-in by verbally declaring all-in? Player B's rationale would have then allowed him to fold because his "out of turn" call is not binding. This scenario clearly tells me that the floor's ruling was correct.
I don't think it's even close, but rules lawyers can certainly prove me wrong. |

Re: NLH Decision – “more angles than a protractor!”
Randy's initial response hit the nail on the head.
The only thing I would add (in case you ever figure out the guys' email address) is that, IMO, he got off easy by ONLY being held to a call. When a slimeball tries an obvious and admitted angle shot like this, I'd like to see the floor give him a time out, or simply ask him to leave for the day. Repeat offenders should be blacklisted. |

[/ QUOTE ] This of course is the arguement for having standardized rules (which you object to). The problem of course here is that your player felt cheated because he wasn't allowed to string bet. But if you allow him to string bet, the other player is going to feel cheated. |
