Re: Favorite atheletes
Steve Yzerman - Favorite athlete ever. I began playing hockey in Michigan nearly the same time his NHL career started. Amazing to watch him grow from this amazing offensive talent to IMO the best two-way forward in the history of the NHL. Also, just incredible leader. Soft-spoken but I know of not a better person in the role of Captain (maybe Messier). Damn, nice guy, does tons of charity work in Detroit area as well as back in Ontario. When I was a kid I used to write him about 4-5 letters a year. He answered every one of them.
Shaq - Funny, loveable big man with a big heart. Exciting to watch him play. I Love the whole police man angle and its nice to see that he truly values his community. Rasheed Walace - A lot of this is because I am a pistons fan, but I admire how passionate and competitive he is. He just brings so much fire to the court every time he plays. However, it often does get him in trouble. I had a friend that used to work for the pistons. She would often get to interview players and write articles for the website. She would say that Rasheed was the most fun person to do this with. He always had something to say that was often funny and he was just a real nice guy to be around. Ozzie Smith - Simply it was just so much fun to watch him play. Barry Sanders - Same thing as Ozzie. Knew a little more about him though as I grew up watching Detroit sports. What an absolutely classy guy. |
