In general, I don't think humankind has ever really been good at this.

Palmeiro's statement before Congress read as follows..."I have never used steroids. Period. I don't know how to say it any more clearly than that. Never."

[/ QUOTE ]

[ QUOTE ]
In a prepared statement, Palmeiro said he could not explain how the steroids got into his body. "I have never intentionally used steroids. Never. Ever. Period," he said.

Raffy just pulled an FYP.

This is worse than Pete Rose betting on baseball. If this is true, I hope he never gets a sniff of Cooperstown.

Are you serious? Do you seriously support induction into The Hall of Fame for a man who tested positive for steroids?

[/ QUOTE ]

Oh, and, FWIW, I put Bonds in the hall and I'm 1000% certain he took steroids.

I say this should knock him out of the HOF for sure. Canseco claimed he injected Palmiero - looks like old Jose's credibility is rising.

The amount of players that use steriods has to be through the roof. On my college team at a small D-1 University in Texas. I personally knew of 15 out of our 32 players who used or where using steriods in the fall of 2002. My guess is there where more than that as well, but I can't say for sure like I can for those 15.

Maybe it is just worse because it is Texas and most people get them from Mexico, one player on the team would make a trip down to the border about once every 3 months.

I think it is clear that guys like Palmerio used but that is just my opinion.

Just announced on WFAN in NY. If true, this is pretty bad. Not too bright of Raffy to destroy his HOF chances and lie to Congress in the process.

Any doubt who needs to be tested next?

[/ QUOTE ]

Personally I think that Roger Clemens should have been tested along time ago.

Nobody thinks about pitchers but I think he had to of used.

I'm no fan of Palmeiro, never have been. But I don't understand the need to take such an extreme position like this before you even know what he was found taking or the circumstances. I know, circumstances don't matter, he's a donkey, blah blah blah.

I'll wager that he wasn't pumping himself full of horse testosterone in the back of a golds gym with a bunch no-necks. The MLB steroid policy has already shown plenty of gray areas, plenty of the banned substances are available in over the counter, GNC type stuff. Not quite like the lame Olympics and the bans for cough syrup junkies, but along those lines.

And maybe you're right, but why not wait to find out?

I don't know how you can justify putting a guy, even one with Bonds' numbers, in The HOF if he did it by using steroids. It just boggles my mind how you could say that.
