Re: How do you deal with a suspected Poker Bot?
[ QUOTE ]
Probably not. They are excrutiatingly time consuming. [/ QUOTE ] FYP [ QUOTE ] I think it's far easier to Get Rich Quick learning to beat 15-30. [/ QUOTE ] I agree. Or, if you are this good a programmer, just get a job making legit programs. I personally am a way better programmer than poker player. Luckily programming pays OK. Not as good as 15-30, but not bad. -D |

Re: How do you deal with a suspected Poker Bot?
Since I've created a monster with this thread that won't die (and, I must admit am a little proud of how it grew ) I think I reached my conclusion to my origonal question (as cdlardmore implied above): Use the info to kick the crap out of them....
Some one PM'd me and said they used the info to steal the blinds from this same player, (bot?) with virtually 100% success.... He's a Fit or Fold (weak tight?)Player... On a related note, I saw a PBS special about AI, and there's a bunch of online Poker players in Grad School somewhere in Canada, trying to develop AI for Poker to beat humans, similiar to the Chess programs. But even they admit it's only an acedemic exercise now, as they have a LONG way to go, if they will ever get there.... For those who are still dying of curosity.... Suspects (almost) ID: ia**two |

I have him 13.63/3.41/2.29 down 1.76bb/100 over 441 hands. Common. It's that he only chats in hexadecimal that worries me. [/ QUOTE ] This is actually a lot funnier than people are giving it credit for being. |

They are the people behind Poker Academy. There are a lot of bright folks on that team, including Jonathan Schaeffer, the guy behind uber checkers program Chinook. |
