Default Re: Getting a coach or private poker lessons. Do you think you need one?

I cannot count the number of times I have heard players say that they have coaches for golf and tennis, which they play primarily for fun, but they have not even considered paying a coach for poker.
By chance a few minutes ago I recommended two coaches to a person who had PM'd me.
The only reason I have never retained a poker coach is that I get free coaching from my friends. Since I know many fine players and belong to a poker discussion group, I get lots of free coaching.
If you want to improve your game, there is NO substitute for a personal coach. You can either pay for lessons or trade coaching sessions with a few good players, but you really need an independent opinion on your game.
Regards,
Al
