If he's playing the "no set no bet" type of poker then he is better off just folding in my opinion with 22... [/ QUOTE ] If you are plaaying this type of poker you suck. Easy call, and play poker. |

Re: 5/10 NL: Set of Ducks on a scary flop.
i was just assuming OP was going to fold to SB's flop bet everytime he didn't hit a set...

Re: 5/10 NL: Set of Ducks on a scary flop.
without reading any replies i think preflop is standard, but you need to raise this a lot more on the flop, around 230'ish seems right to me. the board is very draw-heavy.
given the way you played the flop, turn bet looks fine to me. |

Re: 5/10 NL: Set of Ducks on a scary flop.
Bobbo-
Although the (small) preflop raise from the blinds doesn't appear to be a steal, the OP loses when it is a steal, and both miss the flop and the SB takes it with a continuation bet. Depending on the speed of the table, the aggressive-ness and intelligence of the blind, this seems to be a fold. Unless we are well aware of how to play postflop without a set, I think we lose too much when we are actually ahead on the flop because there aren't enough friendly boards. Not sure if any one of the posts advocating a call indicate that from the size of the preflop raise it was likely SB had a hand and not a steal but this is crucial to the implied odds calculation. |
