Re: Are you guys in autobet mode if you raise pre flop?
We check because betting or raising is incorrect, and folding is too (although in this example, folding is clearly the right move). Therefore, we'd rather not call, but the other options are more incorrect.
In SSHE, it is assumed that players are all loose. So, anyone limping with a wide range of hands will be willing to put in another bet. We shouldn't assume automatically that people are on a flush draw, but we certainly can't ignore it totally either. Out overcards lose value because we may be reverse dominated, likely by A4, A8, A6, and maybe even K8. Overcards are discounted for these reasons, since it is more likely that playing 1/2 limit you will play against loose opponents rather than thinking, tight opponents. Your assumptions are correct, but they only apply when up against a group of competent players. Note: I am new and I'd greatly appreciate it if anyone corrected me on my thinking. |

Re: Are you guys in autobet mode if you raise pre flop?
Well I was pondering the discussion here, as these situations are a problem I am struggling with, and seem to happen quite often. After reading this thread, I randomly opened up SSHE and found a great example of the OP's hand in question on page 273 of the flop play hand quizzes section.
the hand was A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] on the button 2 limpers, you raise, BB + limpers call (8.5 small bets) Flop: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] blind and 1 limper check, 2nd limper bets(9.5): what do you do? They suggest folding. Since your ace could be reverse dominated by Ace-rag, and 2 of your outs make a flush or flush redraw for anyone holding a spade. They count this hand as having 3 outs. Now, this is different from the OP because of the difference in positions. The orignal hand was in the blind. Also I suppose the orignal hand will have more value because in this one you can hit your jack on the turn then possibly be outdrawn with Q or K on the river. |
