Re: Books that made you laugh out loud.
There is a real funny one named Play Poker Like the Pro's...The author's name escapes me, but it floored me. I'm sure someone here will know who this guy is.
I think he has a second book out as well, but I haven't read it yet so I cannot comment! |

Re: Books that made you laugh out loud.
[ QUOTE ]
Anything by Ben Elton, his early stuff is good (stark, this other Eden) but I loved popcorn. He is English so many of you may not of heard of him, he also co-wrote the young ones. [/ QUOTE ] Ben Elton writes great books. Not laugh out loud funny but excellent satire over society in the 90s and forward. Salman Rushdie's book The moor's last sigh is very funny. |

Re: Books that made you laugh out loud.
Catch-22, by Joseph Heller
Terrifyingly funny novel about the absurdity of 20th century warfare. A Brief History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson The most accessible, witty science book I've ever read. The Flashman Papers by George MacDonald Fraser A 12-book series of historical fiction. Flashman is the ultimate Victorian anti-hero: a total bastard (a bully, coward, liar, rake, cad) who manages to make the reader like and root for him as he flees battlefields from Balaclava to Little Big Horn. |

Re: Books that made you laugh out loud.
A Confederacy of Dunces - the first page of this book is one of the funniest things I've read. The rest of the book is really funny as well.
Fear and Loathing - I just read this for the first time, and caught myself laughing out loud on an airplane. The Life of Pi - starts off slow, but is a great story and has some very humorous parts |

I'm gonna put in a 4th vote for catch-22 - funniest novel I've ever read by a wide margin
Also, a 2nd vote for the hitchhiker's guide series. I hear the movie is awful unfortunately |
