SLEATER-KINNEY.
"One Beat" is the best, followed by "The Woods" I'll second nominations for Spoon and Ted Leo, two of my favorite bands. The Secret Machines are pretty good (Now Here is Nowehere is their LP)/ uhh... what hasn't been reccomended. Kings of Leon. Get both CDs. Get anything by the Exploding Hearts. Dismemberment Plan.
