Default Re: Olga Varkonyi $80,700

Considering her husband hardly qualifies as a pro I highly doubt she is.

Title: Phil Ivey Loses a Huge Hand
Log: Phil Ivey and his opponent in seat 7 are both all in preflop. Ivey has K-K, and Seat 7 has A-Q. The flop comes Q-10-5, and Ivey's kings are still in the lead. The turn is a 3, and now Seat 7 needs an Ace or a Queen to crack Ivey's Kings. The river brings an unlikely Queen. Ivey's pocket kings get cracked, and he ships $31,600 across the table. Ivey now has $23,000 in chips.

After losing the hand Ivey whispered to fellow pro Jeff Shulman, "It's amazing. I've never won with that hand, and I never beat that hand." He was of course commenting on A-Q.

It seems like having ESPN cameras around has given players license to overdramatize their all-in victories. The first couple of fist-pumping "YEAH BABY!!!" cries were amusing, but perhaps now the novelty has worn off. Here's hoping ESPN will take prudence in airing these clips.

Yea, and I'm gonna win 7 events at WSOP '06.

She must be. To get chips in poker you have to be a good player.
