The short answer is that it all depends on your state and county. When I lived in NH, I was able to walk into a gun store, give them my drivers lisence and walk out 20 minutes later with a gun. I went to the police, filled out a form, paid $25 and got a license to carry it in my underwear.

Then I moved to Boston where I am not even legally allowed to own a gun without going through a process that takes several MONTHS just to store it in my house.

While I have no experience with the G29, I have a ton of experience with othe Glocks and with shooting in general. If your Glock is not feeding hollowpoints, you either have a defective magazine spring, or you fail to maintain a proper firing grip during operation of the slide. Glocks digest all ammunition. What specific malfunction are you having, double feed, stovepipe, etc?

It's not the mag spring. I have several magazines and it has always done this. It's not a stovepipe malfunction. It just doesn't chamber the round. I'm not really concerned about it. It fires ball ammo or wadcutters just fine.

So the slide fails to return to battery? This sounds like an operator malfunction, namely having a weak firing grip that allows the pistol to slop around during recoil and not have a firm platform against which to cycle. My instructors at Gunsite called this "limp wristing", a/k/a "shooting like a Democrat."

I don't think so! It has never been a problem with any other gun I've ever fired. Also, as I said, it's only a problem with hollow point ammo. Stop trying to diagnose me is you don't know what you're talking about, Sugar. [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Is the slide closing on an empty chamber with rounds still in the magazine or is the round lodging in between the magazine and the chamber? It could be a feed ramp or round length issue. Try a different hollow point with a longer overall length. If the slide is closing on an empty chamber with rounds still in the magazine ie: “short stroking” it might be that your recoil spring is too strong for that ammo.
