I am not trying to rain on anyones parade by any means, but does anyone else think that it is becoming a problem with younger kids today. Regaurdless of how much money they are making, aren't they missing oppurtunites in the two hours a day they play online?

I am not that far removed from high school, I just graduated college, and I can't help but think that I am so glad I didn't play online poker in high school and through most of college.

This poster however seems well rounded and on the right track. But for every one of his personalities there are a dozen that are not using their time as well.

Maybe I'm the only one who thinks like this, but I though I would speak my mind.

Actually it seems to me this kid has his head on straight, esp for a 17 yr old. But many don't. I don't know what to do about it though.

As for 2 hours a day online... he could just as easily be looking at porn or wasting time in a chat room.

To me it looks like you're most likely going to play too high again, go on a downswing and swear not to do it again. Take that for what it's worth.

I never mind constructive criticism, but this seems like a silly statement without know my bankroll at the time i was playing 30-60. I had a over a 500 BB bankroll, and after sustaining a net loss of less then 60BB i knew it wasnt right for me. I am a net winner at every other stake level i have ever played. I don't want you to think just because i am being defensive i am not receptive to criticsm, but given that i am pretty conservative with bankroll management, i just don't agree with your comment, i havent gotten to where i am today by being wreckless.

When I said take it for what it's worth, I meant it. All I know about you is what I read in that post, and I made an observation. If it's not true, then I'm glad.

i am just starting to get into poker seriously and trying to make some money off it. i read your story and thought it was amazing. im similar to you in that i am underage and i enjoy poker. lately i have been putting in 25 at a time and then playing 1-2 and 2-4 tables. i might make it up to 100 by then end of the day but eventually i always go broke. so far i have blown about 300 and i know that i have to change my strategy. im not the greatest player but i have read a few books by sklansky and i do have a pretty good hold on the game. i was wondering if you could give me some advice on the gameplan that you used to be so successful, everything down to how you play certain hands, managing bankroll and how to aviod big losses. i realize that you problably wont want to take time to write alot down, but anythign you can say i would appreciate. thanks

i dont understand you people who are so anti-pro. the op says he doesnt want to go pro but as far as im concerned he has. he quit his job and is making alot of money. he plans to use the money to pay off his tuition and living expenses while in college. he wants to buy an apartment with earnings when he graduates.

he may not have ambitions to play poker forever but that is what he is doing for the time being. i dont have ambitions to play poker forever either, but because i consider myself to be pro and he doesnt i am and he isnt?

sorry for hijacking ggbman. seriously, congratulations and good wishes.
