Re: Party Million Part Deux
Tried to bluff reraise all-in w/ A9 preflop. Got caught. He had A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Out in 213.
I was playing the man. He had laid down about the same reraise % of his stack before PF. Am I an idiot? I don't think I could have made it to the money without winning another pot. Thoughts? |

Re: Party Million Part Deux
[ QUOTE ]
[Blinds 75/150, SB raises to 400, BB pushes to 1200. SB folds A8o.] ENEMY has been playing tight so far. ME and ENEMY have yet to battle. This is EASY fold right? [/ QUOTE ] No! This isn't an easy fold. You almost have the odds to call against anything other than AA, and your opponent could have 66 or QJ or a complete bluff. Against a tight opponent, I don't think you give up much by folding, but tight is not the right way to play blind vs. blind. Against a sharp player it is right by a lot to call. In fact, against an experienced HU player I would expect to be ahead. That you may have a tough decision suggests that raising to 400 was a mistake. Set him in or just complete. It's much more frequently right to open-push from the SB than many people used to a full table expect, even with stacks that are larger. I like pushing. You don't believe your opponent could have a weak hand? Many people fold to reraises so much that it is +EV to reraise with any 2 against them. If the BB has 32o, pushing gains if you call more than half of the time, since even when you call the 32 still wins some of the time. If called, the BB's investment of 1050 returns only about 700 from the pot of 2400, so it costs 350. When you fold, pushing gains 550. Therefore, the BB can push with 32o if you don't call 61+% of the time. |
