Re: ne1 using 21\" LCD monitor?
With 1600x1200, just increase the font size. That gives higher resolution, for the same "actual" text size. Like, a one inch letter onscreen will use 200 pixels instead of 120, for example (hypothetical, made up numbers here).

Thanks!
Thanks for the great article. In fact, thank you all for this little debate. I play 3 tables at time on my lowly 17" CRT, flipping back and forth among the tables. I have been holding off on an upgrade, waiting for the costs of 19" or 21" LCD monitors to come down some more. Because of these posts, I might just buy one of the big CRTs, which are already nicely priced. I like being able to adjust my resolution for poker play versus other general computer usage.

[/ QUOTE ] That was my initial approach and it works fine for text and programs where you can just zoom in and out, but has limited results. I tried this at 1600x1200 on my 20" CRT. It doesn't help for web browsing if you care about things like images, frame sizes, etc. which have fixed dimensions. This also leads to problems with other programs where that facility is not available, like pokerstat (plug), various office productivity apps, etc. |
