One year ago today...

-I occasionally played NL small buy (<$10) in tournaments and cash games with my friends.
-Had played a little bit of online poker, but only for play money

Since then I have...
-Bought and read Matthew Hilger's book, read SSHE and these forums a lot
-Got good enough to beat the Party 5/10
-Turned the $50 I got for signing up at Party under an affiliate into a $10K bankroll mostly through casino whoring
-Along the way I withdrew enough money to completely pay off my wife's student loans and pay for a really nice honeymoon
-Been thinking about moving up to the 10/20 game at Party

Next year I hope to...
-Be beating the Party 10/20 game for the same BB/100 I have at the 5/10 right now
-Be thinking about moving up to the Party 20/40 and 30/60 games
-Win a satellite into a major poker tournament

One year ago...

...Poker? I don't even KNOW 'er!

(laugh track goes wild)

Seriously, at this point poker isn't even on the radar screen. I had just broken up with my gf, and was concentrating on career and music. But I had also told the Mariners where to stick their season tickets, leaving a void that would need to be filled, and...hey, that celebrity poker show has the Kids In The Hall guy on it! I LOVE Kids In The Hall!

Today...

I've got a mid-4-figure bankroll, thanks to winning $2000 in one week, I'm winning consistently at 2/4 6-max, and am about to plunge into the looser world of live poker. Cool new job too - miss getting up at the crack of 10, though.

One year ago today..
I had never played poker

Six months ago today..
I had played online for 2 1/2 months
I lost consistently (just bonus money fortunately!)
I played the lowest limits and $25NL on Pacific

Today...
I still suck!
But I have an $1800 bankroll
I'm more or less breaking even at absolute 2/4 6max
I love playing SnGs
I refuse to play at Pacific

One year ago today I...
...had never played online poker.
...had never read a poker book.
...clobbered my friends in home cash games.
...got eaten up by the 3/6 limit game at the casino.

Today I...
- Play online 20-25 hours a week on a computer, on a desk sitting in a chair that were all bought with poker winnings.
- Own 14 poker books (I've made love to SSHE many times)
- Am reseaching the big-ass TV I'm going to buy with my poker winnings. (Up $2000 in total since June...mainly 1/2 6-max)
- am looking for the guy who said on these boards that "6-max is a gold mine". I owe him a big hug.

-Was beating .25/.50 full for $150, without having any idea what i was doing.
-Underestimating the depth of poker.
-Capping KJo UTG in full ring.(or insert cliche naughty play here)

Today, I:

-Am building a BR for the third time, since i cant stay away from cashouts.
-Beating the .50/1 6max while growing the roll for 4.48 bb/100.
-Have a shelf full of poker books that are responsible for my having beaten 5/10 6max over 10k hands.(all i lasted before running with the dough.)

A year from now, i better have not cashed out any part of my roll, unless im grinding 3/6 or 5/10 with 1000BBs.

one year ago today...
I was playing 40 buyin NL weekly, playing 400 NL, buying in short thought I knew what I was doing... actually had no idea...
since then: built a bankroll from 200 NL online
switched to 6 max limit
i started with 4k at the beginning of the school year was grinding 200 NL online for a while, learned about 6 max limit being insane, started at 3/6 and now am at 5/10, made over 10k since school started.
