Until yesterday I thought I had a commitment friday night, turns out I don't, I'd be up for coming to this if there is space. I don't know much about whiskey at all, I've only tried it 2-3 times, but this appeals to me. Someone would have to suggest to me what to bring, otherwise I'd get something useless.

The Glenmorangie without finish will be too similar to other stuff you'll have there. You won't go wrong w/ any of the above. Others worth trying: Bowmore Bruichladdich Caol Ila Compass Box Glenrothe Highland Park Macallan Springbank Talisker A lot of those are pretty easy to find, and most have some pretty reasonably priced bottles. From that group, any bottle you buy will be fine.
