I have been making pushes like this lately with pretty good results.

He will have a flush some % of the time, he will fold a set some % of the time... but I've gotten a LOT of calls lately from people who don't believe me because 'an overbet looks like a bluff'.

Short-stack donks are the best for this... "haha! he is bluffing the flush, but I'm not that stupid! I call! I don't even have a full stack! mwhahahaah!!"

So I push.

90% of this forum is way too weak tight. River is a very clear value raise. Only argument is how much.

True, can you explain exactly why this is always a value raise?

I know exactly how this guy plays after seeing one hand. He donk bets frequently with air and marginal hands. He doesn't get full value when he has a big hand.

He sees 60% of flops, and plays them all in a similar fashion. When you make a strong hand vs him, you can't let him block bet you. Should be jacking him up everytime you have a big hand.

If he had a flush here, it would be more likely for him to actually bet smaller, hoping for a raise.

Yes, those are all excellent reasons, but they were developed after the fact. You got your read on Villain after this. We're still on the river in my question.. are you saying you should already know from playing with him?

Sorry if I wasn't very clear, how do we know during the hand that a raise is mandatory?

I posted my action before I saw results. I got the read from his two donk bets, not from the results.

I would still stand by my actions if he had a flush.
